Miss Lolly.
Who I thought would be weary, overwrought and emotional after the ordeal of interstate travel.
Quite the opposite though. Yes folks, we have a live one! A toe nibbling, cat chasing, super fluffy bundle of energy. She barks. She growls. She bounds.
The cat is nervous. Very nervous. For now, he's skulking along fence lines, and sticking close to walls.
Luckily for all of us, puppies need to sleep and lunches can be made.
Today's Bento is really last night's dinner in disguise.
Japanese potato salad, garlic endamame (podded so no eyes of classmates are pinged) and a pork roll made with sliced pork belly roast and hoisin sauce.
In the middle is half a mini blueberry pie that I made over the weekend.
They really were mighty easy to make, and pretty tasty to boot. Frozen berries are such a convenient thing to have on hand, and great things to snack on.
While it stays quiet and sleepy indoors, I think I might treat myself to a teensy Nanna Nap. That 3am puppy cry has left me a bit weary...

ooooh that puppy is so cute! What gorgeous fur he has - is it hair or wool? They're so demanding when they're little aren't they - I'm always a bit alarmed - and then they settle down to become part of the furniture thank goodness. Your school lunches are truly inspired and I don't care if they don't last the term, they look awesome now so that's all that counts :-)
Okay, see what happens when I read your blog backwards? Dog, check. You did make those yummy bentos! Swoon!
(Hee, hee, the word verification for this post is "ingst" - as in "Surely, you ingst!"?
